Today we want to boast a little about ourselves - sorry folks, but 2018 is starting off just as successfully as 2017 ended. At least when it comes to awards. After receiving two "FWA of the day" awards for our Offshore Rig VR Experience and the AR Build Assist, things really started to take off. And as Jan Böhmermann so nicely put it at this year's German Digital Awards ceremony, "Demodern is like Helene Fischer at the Echo!" We have nothing more to add to that. Although our taste in music is considerably better...

iF Design Award

Let's start with the iF Design Award, which was presented in early March in Munich. The gold piece went to our Virtual Reality Ulm Experience and is, according to the jury, "an incredible 3D flight simulation and pioneering achievement in Virtual Reality: Here, a forward-looking technology is sensitively and humanely applied in fantastic detail. You definitely want to experience the view of the city of Ulm in 1890 yourself! This application has outstanding model character and can be used for further great experiences of this kind."

ADC - The Award Show

At the ADC Award Show in April, the success continued. Once again, the VR Ulm Experience - but this time there were nails in all shades: Gold, silver, and bronze went to the immersive Virtual Reality Experience, where users can fly over medieval Ulm via Birdly. "Nailed it," we would say...

German Digital Award - the Helene Fischer among agencies

Our personal highlight was then reached at the German Digital Award in Berlin. Our name was engraved on six of the trophies, and we were delighted to receive gold for the Virtual Reality Ulm Experience, silver for the Offshore Rig VR Experience and the IKEA 3D Shelf Configurator, and bronze went to smart Tailor Made 3D Visualizer, our IKEA 3D Shelf Configurator, and the IKEA Virtual Reality Interior Designer. There was nothing to complain about then.

And this is what the jury says about our gold project:

"You can view the Ulm Minster with its world's tallest church tower in various ways: directly on site in Ulm, via photo or video from all possible perspectives, but also in a Virtual Reality application, from a bird's-eye view. This work goes a step further and uses the Birdly flight simulator to float through Ulm and around the Minster like a bird via VR. Unseen, unfelt, completely new - clear GOLD."

Webby Awards - 2 Nominees & 2 Honorees

There was no physical award, but at least four of our projects made it to the shortlist of the best. There were two Nominee awards - each for the Virtual Reality Ulm Experience and the IKEA Virtual Reality Interior Designer. Additionally, our Offshore Rig VR Experience for Dräger and the web special Oceana - #StopOverfishing were honored as Honorees.

HORIZONT Creative Radar - not as good as Jung von Matt, but close (muhahahaha)

This award rain has now brought us to a grand 12th place in the current standings of the HORIZONT Creative Radar. THANK YOUUUU and stay tuned - the year is still long. ;)
