A year-long search has come to an end – the experts in Creative Technologies have found their new home: Since May, the Heyne Factory has been hosting the new office of Demodern's branch on the Main. The two managing directors, Alexander El-Meligi and Kristian Kerkhoff, remain true to their penchant for old factory halls and extraordinary workplaces: The Hamburg team has been realizing its vision since 2015 in the Pianoforte Factory in St. Pauli, while the Cologne team has rented spaces in the Vulkanhallen in Ehrenfeld.

The Heyne Factory is considered a magnet for agencies, start-ups, architectural firms, and companies from the fashion industry. The creatively industrial ambiance of the listed walls and the immediate proximity to the new premises of the renowned University of Art and Design (HfG) on the harbor island convinced Demodern Managing Partner Kristian Kerkhoff: “The Heyne Factory, with its industrial charm, is a perfect fit for Demodern. On approximately 380 square meters, we not only have enough space to grow in terms of personnel but also sufficient area for our prototypes, as well as events and the Demodern Showroom. Additionally, we hope for creative impulses, exciting collaborations, and qualified, digitally-oriented young talent from the soon-to-be-adjacent HfG.”

The now eight-member Frankfurt team has been operating autonomously since its founding last year, without a managing director on site – entirely in line with Demodern's concept of self-responsible working – and develops interactive installations, digital experiences, AR/VR applications, and innovative 3D configurators for clients like IKEA, FRITT, and Deutsche Börse. They were recently represented with the interactive FRITT Wheel of Fortune at the Sweets & Snacks in Chicago.

This year, Demodern celebrates its 10th anniversary and has grown significantly in recent years: The two managing partners, Kristian Kerkhoff and Alexander El-Meligi, now employ nearly 100 staff members. Further personnel growth is planned for all three Demodern locations and beyond. “Given the increasing demand from abroad, we are, of course, considering whether a branch outside Germany might be an option. We are keeping all options open. But this year, our focus is first on expanding and project work for the team in Frankfurt,” adds Kristian Kerkhoff.
