iOS12-WhatWeCanExpectfromtheNewMobileOperatingSystemforiPhone&iPad

More Power To You
With iOS 12, Apple wants to give us even more power. "More power to you." – that's how Apple is promoting the upcoming iOS update. However, let's not delve into who wants power over whom... The new operating system is definitely supposed to be faster, more responsive, and "even more appealing" than its predecessor and will be offered by Apple for free download in the fall. We present the new features individually.
Do Not Disturb!
In iOS 12, the "Do Not Disturb" mode is being revised. This allows you to completely turn off notifications at night and reactivate them in the morning. Additionally, there is the option to temporarily pause notifications during the day.

Performance
The improved performance of iOS 12 will be noticeably felt according to Apple. This will especially please users among you who use an iPhone or iPad of older generations. Apple promises us that the features will enhance performance on all devices, reaching back to the iPhone 5S and iPad Air. This fall, the camera can be opened up to 70 percent faster, the keyboard responds up to 50 percent faster, and apps can be launched twice as fast under "heavy workload" as before.
New Augmented Reality Features
With the new USDZ file format, you can share AR content like 3D objects, edit them, and they can then be placed and rotated in the room by other iOS users on their devices. iOS 12 also comes with ARKit 2.0: The new version includes improved face tracking, better, more realistic rendering, 3D object recognition, and a more consistent user experience.

In the future, Augmented Reality content can also be displayed in Messages, Safari, Mail, Files, and News and is not bound to specific applications. Additionally, the Measure app will make it possible to measure 3D objects, photos, etc.
FaceTime
Starting this fall, you can also have a conversation via FaceTime with multiple contacts simultaneously – whether via audio or video. Communicating with 32 people at once will no longer be possible only through Skype, etc.

Memoji & Animoji
iOS 12 will provide not only 4 new Animojis (Ghost, Tiger, Koala, and T-Rex) this fall, but the animated characters can now also stick out their tongues or wink. As an iPhone X user, you'll naturally have to do this too. Almost old hat... A real innovation, however, are the Memojis: Similar to the Bitmoji app, iPhone X users can create themselves in digital form, adjust skin and hair color, and customize hairstyle and glasses.

Screen Time
Attention kids: Helicopter parents with a fear of losing control will probably be jumping for joy this fall. But adults can also control themselves with Screen Time. The app allows you to keep track of time and restrict the use of certain apps or visits to specific websites to a previously set usage time.

Sharing and Searching Photos
A new feature called "For You" will show you, according to Apple, a "great selection of moments from the photo library and make intelligent suggestions to share the photos with the people depicted in the photo. If the recipient is also an iOS 12 user, they can easily receive the photos." This makes sharing photos even more intuitive. The search for photos is also supposed to be more intelligent. Even before the user types a term into the search field, the iOS device suggests a selection of photos.
