CATCH - the Demodern Showroom took place again this spring. It started in Cologne in April and continued last week in Hamburg. Interested parties could come to our workshop in the Schanzenviertel and be captivated by our experiences and installations. They could test technologies such as Augmented and Virtual Reality, Conversational Interfaces, and 3D product configurators - and exclusively soar above the clouds with our VR installation for Birdly or speak in real-time with a rabbit. It was wonderful.
Flying over Ulm with Birdly - a unique experience
What is a person's childhood dream? The dream of flying... What if you could really fly over a city - and without an airplane. Our Virtual Reality Ulm Experience makes it possible. In collaboration with the Interactive Media Foundation, we are the first to develop a 3D world for the Birdly flight simulator. Users fly in Virtual Reality above the clouds of Ulm in 1890. The focus is on the world's tallest church tower – the Ulm Minster, whose 500-year construction completion can be experienced in VR.
Speaking with a rabbit in real-time? We make it possible...
The second highlight of our showroom week in Hamburg was certainly the PETA truck. For PETA, we developed "EyeToEye" together with Kolle Rebbe, a globally unique emotional Virtual Reality Experience that allows users, through innovative technology such as motion capturing and live acting, to engage in real-time dialogue with a virtual animal and see the world from its perspective.
Making interior design dreams come true with VR and IKEA
Interior design enthusiasts were also catered for - we presented our Virtual Reality Interior Designer for IKEA. The IKEA Immerse App is integrated into the consumer journey in selected German IKEA stores. It sets new standards for digital co-creation in interior design by allowing a virtual living world to be explored, designed, and shared. With numerous configuration options and direct connection to the eCommerce system, this VR application is a valuable new touchpoint. It will soon be available worldwide via the Oculus Store.
Go on a secret mission
Visitors could feel like James Bond in the Realtime VR Gaming Experience we developed for the safety equipment manufacturer Dräger. Using an Oculus Rift VR headset and the associated room-scale VR equipment, users immerse themselves in an oil rig scenario, learn about interaction possibilities, and then carry out an exciting mission.
Experience fashion in a new way, realistically and everywhere
We were also able to present a small premiere: With our AR Fashion Assist prototype, we are expanding product visualization in e-commerce to a new dimension. Customers can place, explore, and customize fashion products in 3D in their own living environment.

FAREWELL WITH AN OPEN DAY
To show our friends and families what we actually do at Demodern, we opened the doors on Saturday and spent a lovely day with cool drinks and treats! We would like to thank everyone who visited us during the showroom week and helped make the CATCH Showroom in Hamburg a complete success.
