The SIGGRAPH conference offers participants five days to discover the latest innovations in CG, animation, VR, games, digital art, mixed reality, and emerging technologies. They experience research, hands-on demos, and great collaboration during their time at one of the largest conferences of its kind. And since we are interested in all these topics, we traveled to Vancouver, Canada. The special thing: not just as visitors, we had the honor for the first time to present one of our projects at the conference. During the conference, participants could not only check out our very own booth IKEA Immerse, but we also presented the VR Interior Designer at Real-Time Live! Christopher and Sam from Hamburg and Pablo as support from Cologne really rocked the damn thing!

And we had the honor of presenting IKEA Immerse to a large number of visitors. The VR experience is an innovative example of real-time technology combined with virtual reality. Together, they create a product that offers consumers real added value. With a VR headset, IKEA customers can design the space according to their own ideas - in a virtual world that looks incredibly real. You almost want to touch the couch fibers, the mirrors shine depending on the intensity of the light, and you can even hear the sounds of passing cars...
The users were thrilled, and our booth was such a success that we had to quickly come up with a Plan B to make all interested parties happy. That's why we "had to" provide a second setup so that all fans had the chance to test IKEA Immerse. Visitors could also do this during Christopher's keynote - the experience was part of the Real-Time Live! program of the SIGGRAPH conference. Additionally, Christopher presented once more as part of the "Experiencing Realities - Part 1" panel.
