Overview
We're looking for an experienced Digital Designer / Art Director to strengthen our team and develop strong visual ideas for digital products, interactive experiences, and immersive applications.
Your tasks
You develop strong visual ideas for digital products, interactive experiences, and immersive applications. You don't just make things look good — you create experiences that are captivating, emotional, and unforgettable.
As Art Director, you take responsibility for the visual quality and direction of our projects. You develop independent design visions and help shape experiences that are visually distinctive, contemporary, and crafted with care.
You work closely with UX, development, storytelling, and our clients to bring ideas to life. We see design as an equal discipline within the team — not as the last step at the end of a process. We're looking for someone who brings their own creative perspective, challenges existing solutions, and actively champions strong ideas.
Responsibilities

- Developing design visions and visual concepts for digital experiences
- Designing interfaces, layouts, and visual systems for interactive applications and installations
- Translating ideas and wireframes into high-quality visual design solutions
- Creating motion designs, animated mockups, prototypes, and visual presentations
- Ensuring visual consistency and quality across all screens, interactions, and content
- Close collaboration with storytelling, UX, development, and 3D
- Guiding and mentoring other designers, supporting disciplines, or freelancers
- Confidently presenting, communicating, and representing design decisions to teams and clients
- Supporting quality assurance during the implementation process
- Estimating efforts and timings
Professional Qualifications
- Conceptual and visionary thinking with a strong understanding of design processes
- Ability to give constructive feedback and support other designers
- Strong command of design tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and AI workflows
- Experience designing interfaces for apps, web experiences, and games
- Experience with (Atomic) Design Systems and collaboration with development teams
- Strong understanding of typography, composition, and visual storytelling
- Ability to develop compelling design visions and engaging presentations
- Solid skills in motion design, animation, and basic film editing
- A strong sense for detail, quality, and consistency
- Interest in or experience with 3D workflows
- Interest in or experience with XR technologies, digital installations, and emerging technologies
- Ability to mentor and guide freelancers and external creatives
- Strong communication skills in German and/or English
Nice-to-haves
While these requirements aren't mandatory, each of these additional qualities makes you a top candidate.
- Experience with immersive or spatial experiences and installations
- Experience with experimental or innovation-driven projects
- Experience in 3D, illustration, visual identities, or film
- Understanding of storytelling in interactive applications
- Basic understanding of (frontend) development or technical implementation
- Personal creative passions outside the "typical" design fields
