A 3D product configurator makes picking robots tangible on the web and in AR.

Complex machines were hard to grasp and slowed down purchasing decisions.
BD Rowa needed a tool that clearly explains the size, structure, and functions of the picking robots and accelerates sales processes worldwide. Goals included better comparability of models, faster decision-making, and accessibility across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
The developed WebGL visualizer allows for interactive exploration and configuration of all five model variants, including hotspots with text, images, and videos, as well as a 360° interior view. The tool can be embedded in the website via iFrame and is responsive for desktop, tablet, and mobile.

The configurator displays the five model variants and offers a 360° interior view that makes real dimensions and functions tangible. The WebAR integration via Scene Viewer allows even older devices to experience AR and transforms the visualization into a practical sales tool.

Step-by-step development ensured a robust, user-friendly product.
The process went Discover → Prototype → Build → Launch: CAD data was converted into optimized 3D models, interactions and performance were tested early, and the AR function was integrated via Scene Viewer. A QR-supported workflow connects desktop view with mobile AR.
The 'Magic Moment' occurs when users dive directly into the machine via hotspots or place the device in their own environment using AR. WebGL ensures detailed representation, Scene Viewer provides broad AR compatibility, and the agile setup allows for easy extensions with additional products.
