An air hockey table becomes an interactive stage.

Interaction makes familiar things exciting again.
After the remote phase, we looked for formats that bring people together and capture attention. The challenge was to enhance a familiar game device in a way that attracts visitors, increases dwell time, and delivers measurable KPIs such as the number of games played and game duration. Relevance existed for bars, trade shows, and offices alike.
AR projection on the air hockey table with colorful overlays, score display, and puck trail; players in the picture.
We delivered an AR setup that seamlessly integrates projection, tracking, and game logic while preserving the real game feel.
The AR air hockey system enhances the Cleangame with 2D overlays, pop-up messages, timers, speed trackers, and dynamic animations without disturbing the tactile experience of the real game. The result is significantly longer game sessions and a visual highlight for any location.
Close-up: Optitrack cameras and projector above the table, cables and Arduino in the background.

Four Optitrack cameras capture movements in real-time and provide data to Unity; a projector displays the overlays, and an Arduino reports goals. This combination kept latencies low and made features like speed tracking and puck trail reliable. About 100 test games helped perfect timing and hit detection.

Prototyping with love brought playable perfection.
The process was divided into discovery, rapid prototyping, extensive testing, and fine-tuning before the launch. The key lever was direct player feedback: small adjustments to visuals and timing significantly increased the fun factor and made the system robust for various locations.
The system adapts to different use cases and creates playful experiences wherever people come together.
It works in bars, at trade shows, and as an office magnet.
The finished setup shows how the ordinary can become a memorable experience. We have completed the project and look forward to transforming your table as well. Contact us, and we will explore together how to turn your object into a crowd-puller.
