Zimmy brings the brand directly to your breakfast table.
Augmented Reality works instantly and without additional apps.
Kellogg’s needed a simple way to create closeness and playful brand experiences even during times of limited interactions. The goal was to increase brand loyalty and measurable social engagement through QR triggers on packaging and at the point of sale.
Scan, click, and Zimmy is there — this is how we reach users with minimal barriers.
Zimmy appears via QR scan through a specially designed landing page, without any app download or additional permissions. This direct access makes the experience easily accessible for all age groups.

The experience includes the 3D AR model of Zimmy, a mobile landing page as an entry point, Instagram face filters, and a sticker set for stories and posts. This creates a closed experience that uses packaging as a trigger and social media for reinforcement.
From 2D to a lively 3D dragon.
Based on the packaging illustration, we sketched Zimmy in various poses, created a 3D model, rigged it, and carefully animated it. The goal was to achieve a believable movement language that feels emotional in the AR context rather than just a gimmick.

Technically, the delivery was done through universal 3D formats (USDZ and glTF), ensuring Zimmy works in high quality on iOS and Android without app installation. We consciously made compromises in rigging and file size to ensure performance and accessibility.
Social media made the encounter shareable and visible.
Filters and stickers enhanced interaction and carried Zimmy in feeds and stories.
Behind the scenes, a time-lapse shows the transformation from 2D sketches to an animated 3D character. The video illustrates how design decisions and fine animation shape Zimmy's personality and build trust with stakeholders.
