Complex processes become playfully tangible.
Enterprise software often loses the attention of users.
At SAP NOW, the presentation of procurement processes risked becoming lost in dry slides. The challenge was to not overwhelm professional visitors with complexity, but to convey the benefits of SAP S2P clearly in a short time while simultaneously increasing interest, dwell time, and understanding.
The target audience consisted of procurement managers and decision-makers who should quickly experience added value at events.
The goal was to significantly increase understanding and interaction.
We delivered an interactive 3D tour that invites participation.
The experience combines a narrated story with four avatars, modular chapters, simple arrow controls, and a WebGL engine. Visitors could solve missions at their own pace and directly experience the benefits of SAP S2P; this led to higher engagement and positive feedback from the event audience.
Characters and the bicycle were designed in Blender, varied in ZBrush, and finalized in Substance Painter. Houdini created smooth transitions between chapters, making the world feel handcrafted while also performing well in the browser.
The process followed clear phases from concept to launch.
The core idea was learning by doing.
The demo video shows a mission sequence: the user controls the avatar, makes decisions, and immediately sees how procurement decisions demonstrate practical relevance. Navigation, feedback, and the playful conveyance of processes are made visible in a concise and impactful manner.
Learning by doing creates sustainable understanding.
The experience shows that playful interaction makes complex topics accessible: participants remembered process steps better, feedback was consistently positive, and the method can be scaled to other product areas and events.
