OMNIA XR makes machine training possible anytime and anywhere.
Traditional training halts production.
Conventional training often leads to production downtimes, inconsistent onboarding, and increased error rates because specific machine conditions are difficult to replicate. At the same time, motivation decreases during long, theoretical courses — a scalable, practical learning offering was lacking.
Bausch+Ströbel sought a solution that allows employees to train risk-free on real machines while making training scalable and measurable.
The goal was clear, practical training without interrupting production.

OMNIA XR delivers modular, realistic VR training for every machine.
Real machines, trainable virtually.
Using CAD data, we have created realistic, interactive training environments that enable practice on the exact replica of the machine. Content is modular, platform-flexible, and supports assessment and progress documentation.

The application uses 3D machine data to simulate scenarios for operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and aseptic procedures. This allows teams to practice before the physical machine arrives and significantly reduces downtime.
An iterative process took OMNIA XR from idea to scalable solution.
Step by step to deployable training.
In the discovery phase, we gathered requirements and integrated CAD data, tested interactions in prototypes, scaled content in the build phase, and rolled out the solution with training metrics and user feedback during the launch — always focusing on practical relevance and user acceptance.
The app is developed in Unity, optimized for Meta Quest 2, and remains platform-flexible. Hand tracking enables intuitive interaction, gamification, and a virtual assistant increase motivation, while analytics make progress and training quality measurable. Early user feedback was crucial for acceptance and effectiveness.
Natural interaction and measurable learning outcomes ensured added value.
Hand tracking replaces controllers and allows realistic, fine motor exercises that promote muscle memory. The feeling of actually working on the machine enhances learning transfer and reduces errors in real production.
"OMNIA XR makes individual training scalable for maximum learning success and business value," says Luca Saur, Project Manager Digitalization at Bausch+Ströbel. In the video, we showcase typical training processes, interactive scenarios, and initial user reactions from the deployment.
