Shopping becomes tangible: Experience table decoration in your own space.
Online shopping replaces the store, but often the sense of scale, proportion, and atmosphere is missing. Especially with table decor, visual imagination determines the purchase. The AR Table Planner provides exactly this visual certainty and transforms uncertainty into inspired decisions.
Potential customers should be able to see, combine, and evaluate products directly in their own home. The focus was on increasing purchase conversions, shortening decision-making time, and measurable engagement within the app.
The application is aimed at both individuals preparing for a special event and professional users such as wedding planners and restaurateurs. A seamless mobile touchpoint for home and a scalable offering for B2B customers were essential.
Goal: Create more purchase confidence and emotionally support decision-making processes.

The AR Table Planner transforms the dining table layout into an interactive shopping experience, allowing users to try products in life size, mix variations, and make immediate decisions.
The solution combines pre-made table sets, a mix-and-match editor, and an AI-powered recommendation engine with a dialogical interface that guides users step by step to the right selection.
The deliverables included a native AR app with highly optimized 3D models, curated presets, a recommendation engine, and commerce options for purchase or temporary rental.
Pilot tests showed up to 30% higher purchase conversions among users who utilized the AR features, and a significantly lower return rate because the products were experienced in a realistic manner. At the same time, users reported more inspiration and planning security for special occasions.
Result: Users find orientation and make more confident purchasing decisions.
The project process began with research and user interviews, followed by rapid prototypes in the AR viewport and iterative testing. Building and optimizing the 3D assets as well as integrating the recommendation engine led to a controlled launch with accompanying usability tests.
The decisive moment occurred when users selected a preset through the dialogical interface and could directly swap alternatives in the mix-and-match, turning uncertainty into a playful design process.
Mechanics and UX are based on simple guidance, visual feedback when placing, and additional content such as recipes or tutorials that emotionally enrich the scenario.
High-quality 3D models were optimized to look detailed while loading quickly. The technical integration focused on smooth performance on mobile devices, an AI recommendation for suitable sets, and seamless commerce options for purchase or rental.
The key learnings show that visual clarity combined with a guided user experience creates more trust than mere product data; pre-made presets lower the entry barrier, and the option to rent opens up new business models.
Learning: Visualization plus guidance creates trust and quick decisions in shopping.
