PwC Virtual Spaces brings the business metaverse into everyday work.

PwC needed secure, scalable spaces for collaboration and client contact.
The challenge was to make daily collaboration, client communication, and HR interaction more effective, accessible, and brand-compliant. The goal was to achieve a measurable increase in meeting efficiency, higher participant satisfaction, and a platform that seamlessly integrates into existing security processes.
The integration of a platform for nearly 12,000 employees had to meet the highest INFOSEC and PwC compliance standards without compromising user-friendliness. At the same time, the solution needed to be versatile enough to be used for daily meetings as well as public events.

A browser-based business metaverse platform for meetings, events, and recruiting.
PwC Virtual Spaces offers avatar interaction, intuitive video calls, screen sharing, a virtual studio for live streams, themed work and event spaces, as well as a business fashion catalog. Everything is designed to be brand-compliant and accessible directly in the browser to ensure low entry barriers.
The platform was tested with concrete use cases: daily team meetings, workshops, live presentations for executives, and immersive recruiting events for new talent. This resulted in a solution that creates acceptance in operational use rather than just delivering concepts.
The solution combines immersive experiences with practical business functions.

More than 12,000 employees can access differently designed spaces specifically modeled for concrete business scenarios. Users report shorter coordination cycles, more intense participation, and a more consistent brand experience in the virtual space.

This is how we implemented Virtual Spaces step by step.

Four clearly structured phases led to a market-ready platform.
In Discover, we defined requirements and compliance frameworks, while prototypes allowed for rapid validation with real users. In Build, the front and backend as well as the integrations were created, and the launch included staggered rollouts and training for users.
Technically, we relied on a custom CMS for dynamic content, a specially developed infrastructure for managing rooms and chats, and a 3D pipeline for modeling and lighting. However, it was crucial that all decisions equally considered user experience and security requirements.
Technology supported the experience, not the other way around.

We extensively used the platform ourselves: internal meetings, retrospectives, and prototype sessions took place in Virtual Spaces, allowing us to validate use cases and derive targeted improvements. The most important insight was that real usage and continuous feedback massively accelerate adoption and benefits.
